Nigerian Giant oilseed sunflower is a rare African heirloom variety primarily bred for consumption in the form of whole seeds, or for the oil extracted from the seeds. The plants grow over 8+ feet tall in ideal conditions and produce a large sunflower at its apex which can be over 1.5 feet in diameter. The Flowers are bright yellow and long-lasting and make a statement in any landscape. They are long-lasting. The seeds borne in the flowers are very plump and have a high percentage of oil and a naturally sweet taste. The seed heads droop toward the ground, which makes it harder for birds and small mammals to eat the seeds. The plants tolerate hot and dry summer conditions extremely well, and can be grown anytime during the year in most parts of india!
