Mash melon is a very unique, but extremely native variety of melon from India. On first glance, it seems like a cross between musk melon and cucumber, and the taste is actually quite similar. The fruits are extremely soft and fragrant when ripe, and some varieties even crack open when mature (although this variety stays intact, making it more suitable for commercial use.) The fruits can be eaten as is, but the more common use is it juice (or mash) the pulp and add a little jaggery to make a refreshing drink.  Very easy to grow, and often naturalizes after  a few seasons of growing.
