The renowned desi variety of okra is as productive and pest-resistant as it is unique looking! The pods grow over a foot in length and retain their tenderness even when they are above 6 inches long, unlike most varieties with get hard by that point! The pods are rich in soluble fibre, and when used in sambars and soups they naturally thicken and enhance the texture of the meal! They are also super resistant to okra pod borers, and caterpillars which bury into the pods and eat them from the inside out. It is one of the only varieties we have which we've found almost 0 caterpillars inside of, even though we never even sprayed them with any organic pesticide!
