Common yarrow is the most widespread variety of yarrow (Achillea millefolium) with white flowers and highly aromatic leaves, roots, and buds. The medicinal properties of yarrow are too many to list, all parts of the plant have potent antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, the crushed leaves almost immediately stop the bleeding of small wounds (we use it almost every time we get scratched or cut on the farm and it works like magic.) The tea, made from dried leaves and flowers, is super aromatic and delicious, and is super healing and relaxing to consume,
 
As a plant, yarrow is super easy to grow. They form deep, taproot systems, which mine nutrients from deep in the soil. They also spread via underground stolons, and establish 2-3 foot wide colonies of plants. The plant is perennial and can tolerate both heat and cold, and both drought and flood conditions. The only caveat is the tiny seeds (often referred to as dust) so have to be sprinkled on the surface of the soil and kept moist to germinate. The rainy season is therefore the most suitable time to sow them. They will grow quickly once planted and start flowering and establishing colonies (which can be further divided to make new plants.)
