These seed-starting pellets are our to-go resource for seeds we are having difficulty germination or have too few seeds to grow a variety from (farmers can sometimes spare only as little as 2-3 seeds of their heirloom varieties with us!)
 
Coco coir pellets are sterile seed planting mediums, that are convenient, compact, and clean and can be used indoors as well as outdoors to start seeds. Simply place the dry pod in a shallow bowl of water and the pods will expand to several times its original size, filled with fluffy cocopeat media. The seed can then be planted in this medium and placed outdoors or indoors near a window.
 
Maintaining a thin layer of water at the base of the pod, in a plate or bowl, can ensure that consistent moisture is maintained for the seeds to germinate well (without waterlogging the medium). Coco coir pellets are especially useful for increasing the success rates of seed germination, as they are easier to care for and protect from seed predators, extreme weather, and disease, which can attack seeds.
