Considered one of the most iconic Italian heirloom tomatoes, literally bred to be the best in the game for making traditional Italian sauces and dishes. The low water content of this variety allows it to make delicious rich sauces quickly, without having to simmer out the water for hours like regular market varieties. This variety loves heat, and does very well in the dry, Indian summers found in a lot of the country. It is however very prone to damage from waterlogging, and blossom end rot becomes an issue once the monsoon rains arrive.
