For optimal germination and growth, jicama seeds should be sown at a depth of approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) in well-drained soil. The soil temperature for sowing jicama seeds should ideally be around 70 to 95°F (21 to 35°C) for successful germination. Jicama is a warm-season crop and thrives in tropical or subtropical climates with plenty of sunlight and warmth.
