Bronze beauty lettuce is a heat-tolerant, oakleaf-type heirloom lettuce from America. It is an award-winning variety that has been the favorite of market gardeners since the 1940's. The long leaves are light green with bronze-colored patches, and in intense full-sun conditions they can even turn completely bronze. The leaves are crisp and tasty and high in antioxidants. As a non-head-forming lettuce, the harvest occurs in season long and the outermost leaves are harvested regularly to stimulate new growth. The variety is slow to bolt, and shade tolerant.
