Blue spice basil is an American heirloom variety of basil with the most unique flavor and aromatic characteristics of any basil we have seen. It has a cool, minty flavor with undertones of spices like cinnamon, vanilla and clove. It lacks the leafy, herby flavor that is associated with basil.
 
The abundant flowers of this variety have a strong fragrance of musk melon and are a favorite of bees. This makes blue spice basil an excellent companion plant for crops, or a border crop to attract pollinators and beneficial insects. Can be grown all year round with sufficient irrigation. Excellent container variety.
