This rare eggplant variety is unique, stunning and delicious. African striped eggplant is in fact not the same species as common eggplant (Solanum melongena) but a closely related species Solanum aethiopica, which are commonly also called toga eggplant or garden egg. The trademark feature of this species is fruits that are white when young and turn red as they ripen. This variety has an additional feature of dark green stripes, which only makes it more attractive to the eyes! The fruits of the eggplant are edible at all stages of ripeness, and delicious and healthy to eat! The plants are hardy, pest resitatnt and EXTREMELY productive! The more you harvest the more fruit it produces.
